While Mario remained number one yet again in Costume Express’ weekly ranking of the top 10 children’s Halloween costumes, Luigi surged two spots to take third. The top five in the Halloween costume rankings experienced a bit of a shake-up, but mostly the same costumes remained in the top five. Surprisingly, the remainder of the top ten experienced a dramatic change.

“The change in the bottom-half of the rankings was pretty substantial,” said Jalem Getz, CEO of BUYSEASONS, Inc., the parent company of Costume Express. “It will be interesting to see which costumes hold on and finish strong as we approach Halloween. I’m particularly interested to see if the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz will drive up the Dorothy costume, which is coming on strong just outside of the top ten.”

As mentioned above, the most popular costume ordered on Costume Express during the week beginning on Friday, October 2 and ending on Thursday, October 8 was the Super Mario Bros. Mario Deluxe Costume. Barely hanging on to second place was the Harry Potter Gryffindor Robe, and quickly inching towards the top was Super Mario Bros. Luigi Deluxe Costume. The Teal Dragon Child Costume remained in fourth, while the Lil’ Mermaid Costume dropped two spots to fifth.
