One-of-a-Kind Costuming On The Cheap
Bellevue, WA (PRWEB) October 12, 2003
If spending more than $ 20 on your costume just to look like everyone else is what youÂre aiming for this Halloween, donÂt read any further.
On the other hand, if youÂd like to express your individuality, wear a totally one-of-a-kind costume, and do it all for under $ 20, your best bet is  you guessed it  a thrift store.
Come Halloween season, Savers and Value Village thrift stores across the nation transform into Halloween Factories, offering literally thousands of costuming ideas for the frugal individualist. ÂIf youÂre short on ideas, our Costume Coordinators will literally become your personal shoppers, helping you mix new and used costumes, clothing and accessories to come up with something totally unique, says Gina Cohen, Communications Specialist for the chain.
Savers and Value Village stores offer a Custom Costume Guide in-store for free as well, with over 75 great ideas to get the creative juices flowing.
Here is a smattering of one-of-a-kind costumes you can put together yourself for under $ 20:
· Wind- affix loose clothing to hangers and attach all items to your body so they Âbend the same direction, sweep hair in the same direction and spray it into place
· Happy Camper- jeans, sweatshirt, flannel, backpack; paint face all yellow with big black smile and eyes
· Heisman Trophy- leggings cut off below knee, old football jersey, shoes and helmet, socks for shoulder pads; spray-paint all clothing gold and use gold face paint on exposed skin
· Smarty Pants- hot glue Smarties candy rolls to a pair of old jeans, pair with Âlibrarian glasses
· Speed Bump- yellow sweatpants and sweatshirt; roll a spare tire in black paint then roll it over the chest and knees of the sweat suit to create a tire tread
